About Me

I’m Debbie…welcome to my food blog! No, I’m not a chef, although I considered going into culinary when I was younger. I am simply a music teacher from Queens, New York. And I love food. I always have. Even as a toddler in a high chair, I was an eater.

As I got older, I started to cook dinner for my family. I remember making chicken Marsala for the first time when I was 10 years old. It was my specialty. I read cookbooks for fun and wrote down recipes I liked on index cards. I wrote down recipes quicker than I could make them. I just loved collecting recipes.

When I finished school and began living on my own, I began to organize recipes in binders and became addicted to The Food Network. Anytime I saw a recipe I liked, I would go to their website, print it out, and place it in a binder. And when I wanted to cook something new, I would search through my binders and see what called out to me. I still watch cooking shows religiously, but now I just save the recipes I like on Pinterest.

At this point in my life, I know enough about cooking techniques and flavor profiles to construct my own recipes. I rarely follow a recipe exactly as is. I know what I like and I know what tastes good, so I am constantly tweaking recipes in an attempt to perfect them.

Why am I starting this blog? Because I love talking about food and I love sharing my ideas! I am by no means an expert, but I want to share the recipes that I am passionate about so that others can enjoy them as well!

Happy cooking =)
