This recipe is for those who love delicious baked goods but also appreciate a shortcut in making them! As much as I LOVE to bake, I even appreciate a shortcut now and then. These brownies combine both chocolate chip cookies and Oreos, and they are super delicious!
I use box brownie mix and pre-packaged cookie dough for this recipe. I love the pre-packaged cookie dough because they actually come already cut into 24 uniform squares. It makes it very easy to just press them into the brownie batter in a 6 x 4 arrangement. The brownie mix I like best is Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix, and I would highly recommend you use it for this recipe. However, when it comes down to it, it’s your call. Feel free to use whatever brand you like. 😊 I add Oreos simply because I’m obsessed with them. They add a wonderful richness to the brownies as they bake.
These brownies are perfect for the amateur bakers out there, or for when you just don’t have the time or energy to fuss in the kitchen.
Give these a try!
Ingredients:
1 box Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix
1 egg
½ cup vegetable or canola oil
¼ cup water
9 Oreos, chopped
1 (about 16 oz) package Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with 24 pre-cut cookies (like Pillsbury or Nestle Toll House)
Cooking Spray
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the brownie mix, egg, vegetable oil, and water until completely combined. Stir in the Oreos.
3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out so it evenly coats the bottom of the pan. Bake for 12 minutes, then remove the pan from the oven. Press the cookie dough squares into the batter so they are in a 6 x 4 arrangement. Put the pan back in the oven and bake for another 19-23 minutes, or until a toothpick just about comes out clean when inserted into the brownies (a crumb or two that sticks to the toothpick is ok). The cookie dough sections should be very lightly browned but not overcooked. Be careful not to overcook the brownies…they will continue to cook even when you take them out of the oven!
4. Allow the brownies to cool before cutting.
Enjoy!
Wow. Loaded!
