Oreo Cheesecake Brownies

Oreo brownies are among my most frequently requested desserts, so I decided to make them even more delicious and decadent by adding a cheesecake layer! I started by making the batter to my Oreo brownies, then I made a cheesecake batter and combined that with some crushed Oreos. The cheesecake batter gets spread on top of the brownie batter, and then it all gets baked together!

I’ll be honest- They’re pretty incredible.

You can take a shortcut by using box brownie mix, but if you do, make sure you use a dark chocolate mix. It makes the brownies a bit more decadent. 😊

Treat yourself to these!

Ingredients:

Brownie Layer:
1/3 cup Hershey’s Cocoa Special Dark
½ cup hot water
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
4 tbsp. unsalted butter
½ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups granulated sugar
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp. salt
10 Oreos, chopped

Cheesecake Layer:
2 8-oz. packages cream cheese, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract

8 Oreos, crushed

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Turn the heat off and add the chopped chocolate. Stir the chocolate until it is completely melted. Pour the mixture into a large bowl along with the hot water and cocoa powder. Mix on low speed until blended.

2. Add to the chocolate mixture the vegetable oil, 2 eggs, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and mix on low to blend all ingredients.  Add 2 cups of sugar along with the flour and salt and mix until completely combined. Stir in 10 chopped Oreos to the brownie batter. Spread the brownie batter into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan.

3. Now make the cheesecake layer- In a large bowl, whip the cream cheese with an electric mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add ¾ cup of sugar and continue to beat for another minute. Add the 2 eggs and 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract and beat until a smooth batter forms. Stir in the 8 crushed Oreos. Spoon this mixture evenly over the brownie layer and gently spread so the cheesecake completely covers the brownie layer.

4. Bake the brownies for 37-42 minutes, or until the bars no longer jiggle in the center and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the brownies. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for an hour. Refrigerate for a few hours before cutting.
